Website Content Management/Page Editor

Sun, 27 Apr 2008 13:23:34 PDT
Our church is currently using Mambo 4.5.5 as our website content management system. We have had a lot of difficulty using for Mambo as a page editor for fairly basic tasks (creating forms, formatting text, .hyperlinks) etc. We are thinking of either switching to Joomla 1.0 or 1.5, or going with a professional page editor such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage. Does anyone have any advice regarding either other open source content management systems with better page editors than Mambo, and/or whethe

Instead of dealing with the serious issue at hand, alleged election overspending, the Con's are as usual pointing fingers at the Lib's and anyone else they can think of as a diversion. One of their favourite attack dogs, Pierre Poilievre apparently sees a conspiracy here. Ottawa-area Conservative Pierre Poilievre (PWAH'-lee-ehv) goes further, accusing Elections Canada of inviting the Liberal party to watch the raid unfold. Note to Petey. The Lib's have said that they saw the story on Newsworl

The return of the global intellectuals poll Published by Tom Nuttall on April 21, 2008 in Inside the magazine. 5 Comments Three years ago, you may recall, we teamed up with Foreign Policy magazine to produce a list of the world’s top 100 public intellectuals and to ask our readers to vote for their top five. This year we’re repeating the exercise, with a new list that we believe better reflects the current trends in global thought. We’ve tried to spruce up the list this time around by cle

Nader asks, Which side are you on? Posted by Paulie --- April 27th, 2008 Posted at Vote Nader Blog Earlier this month, we wrote that it was “shameful” that progressives like Medea Benjamin were supporting the Democratic Party over Nader/Gonzalez. Medea posted a response on one of our blogs, saying she was offended by the accusation, and said we should “respect” each other’s choices. Medea used the word “respect” three times in one paragraph. One person who was on the receiving end of Med

Look Out WhoWhatWearDaily.com!

Here comes competition!! My-Wardrobe.com has recently launched their own online fashion/style videos to promote their own clothes as well, and the results aren’t too shabby either. Expect more “eclectic London-style” outfits from their videos and less of the ”California meets New York chic” type of outfits featured on WhoWhatWearDaily.com. Whilst the presenter may not be as photogenic as the two chicks on WhoWhatWear, she seemed to provide better detailed descriptions of the outfits and the c

Japan’s Latest Suicide Trend

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 11:40:11 PDT
No more jumping in front of rush-hour commuter trains, no more leaps from apartment building rooftops. The Japanese have a popular new way of doing themselves in. Is the news media to blame for the growing number of cases of suicide by this latest method?

Afghanistan with a laugh track

Is TV censorship in Kabul really a sign of ‘re-Talibanization’? KABUL — On a side street in downtown Kabul, behind the inevitable concrete barriers, bomb-resistant walls, heavy steel gates and barbed-wire spools, are two modest-sized houses, indistinguishable from neighbouring abodes except for one or two extra layers of security and a surprising number of people coming in and out. That, and the sound of laughter that blasts from a TV mixing console inside this homegrown broadcast centre
